University to Accept Students Starting Next Year
According to the Guangdong Province Education Bureau, the Shenzhen campus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong will start accepting enrollments for students in 2013. The enrollment is open to all students from around the world and outstanding students of migrant workers that received scholarships.
Under the university plan, they will be enrolling 11,000 students coming from the mainland, with 7,000 of them to be enrolled in the first year and 30 percent of the students are holders of Shenzhen hukou. Students planning to enter the University must take the National College Entrance Examinations, since the university is requiring a qualification score higher than other key universities. Students planning to apply for scholarships must have a score of 130 out of 150 points in the English examination.
Once the Shenzhen campus opens the university will offer major courses such as resources engineering, information engineering, advance manufacturing, biology, material engineering, financial services, economic, business management, environmental science and engineering. The university will also be planning launch a global recruitment scheme that will invite lecturers and professors to work and teach in the university.
