Buddhist Relic to be Displayed During Third Buddhist Forum in Hong Kong
Organized by the Buddhist Association of China, the China Religious Culture Communication Association and the Hong Kong Buddhist Association opened the third World Buddhist Forum and Grand Blessing Ceremony for the worshiping of Buddha’s parietal-bone relic in Hong Kong.
The three day event will be the biggest international Buddhist conference to be held in Hong Kong. The event has the theme “Common Aspirations and Actions Towards a Harmonious World” will have monks and scholars from over 50 countries and religion to participate in forums to discuss the ways of spreading Dharma teachings, was to protect Buddhist teachings, the exchange of ideas on the ways of developing Buddhist education and to promote Buddhist charity.
Aside form the forum, a Grand Ceremony Blessing was also held to worship Buddha’s parietal bone relic. This will be the first time the relic is being moved from the mainland since it was discovered in June 2010. The relic will be enshrined at the Hong Kong coliseum for public worship with tight security measures in a 24 hour basis is implemented to ensure the safety of the relic. The grand blessing is considered as the largest and most spectacular ritual ceremony to be held in Hong Kong
