Kenny G to Hold First Concert in Shenzhen on Mother’s Day
Shenzheners will get to hear the world’s best soprano jazz saxophonist perform some of his popular song including Going Home the Chinese classic Jasmine Flower and his other classics. Kenny G is one of the biggest selling instrumental musician having sold over 75 million albums worldwide. He won a Grammy Award for the best instrumental composition in 1994 and along with the Grammy he also won awards in the American Music Awards and the Soul Train Awards.
Before Kenny G single-handedly popularized jazz, the use of the saxophone took a supporting role in music until 1987 when Kenny G’s Songbird created a global craze for the instrument and had taken center stage ever since. He is also a master of circular breathing allowing him to hold notes longer than any musician and in 1997 he prove this by holding an E-flat for 45 minutes which earned him a place in the Guinness Book of World Record.
