China’s Charity Fair to be Held in Shenzhen
On July 12 to 14 a First Charity Projects Exchange Exhibition will be held in Shenzhen, the event is dubbed as China’s No. 1 charity fair is organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs along with the Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce together with the Shenzhen and Guangdong governments.
The exhibition fair will showcase all of China’s latest achievements, management and innovative social construction. And at the same time promote development of charitable organizations and enterprises as well as opening new channels for the public to participate in charitable activities. The exhibition fair will cover 15,000 square meters and will have forums, celebrations, online exchanges and charity festivals.
This year a national level comprehensive exhibition will be attracting participants coming from the Chinese mainland, Macao and Hong Kong. The fair organizer considered inviting several international charity organizations only after seeing the development of the exhibition in hopes to turn it into an international platform.
Shenzhen is one of China’s most generous cities in 2011 with over 1.9 billion yuan in donations as well as having 350,000 residents as registered volunteers. Last year the city’s voluntary teaching project recruited more than 548 volunteers to teach in 180 villages in the 12 provinces and autonomous regions which won them the China Charity Awards.
