Lang to Continue Serving as Shenzhen’s Goodwill Ambassador
Known Chinese pianist Lang Lang will be continuing to fulfill his duties as the Shenzhen International Goodwill Ambassador by promoting Shenzhen in several of his international performances. Lang will be performing at the Lyric Opera in Chicago his only recital in Chicago for this year.
Lang will be introducing himself to foreign audiences as the goodwill ambassador for Shenzhen’s international image. During his Chicago performance a video on Shenzhen will be played along with Lang’s introduction will give his audiences a glimpse of the history and culture of Shenzhen. Lang will be performing pieces by classic artists such as Bach, Chopin, and Schubert and while performing a video camera will be placed above his piano so audiences can see a closer look at his flying fingers.
Lang will continue his promotion of Shenzhen with his recital at Carnegie Hall in New York on May 29. Aside from his performances, Lang will be awarded a honorary doctorate from Manhattan School of Music and becoming the first Asian to be granted a honor doctorate. The doctorate recognizes Lang’s contributions to charity, education and art along with his influence to youths.
