Construction of Unfinished Section of Wang Hai Road to Continue – To Cut Travel Time to Shekou by an Hour

Construction of Unfinished Road Section to ContinueConstruction of the 453 meter long section of Wanghai Road in Nanshan will begin soon along with the renovation of Shekou Port that will upgrade the area with abundant landscaping. The construction of Wanghai Road was placed on hold due to issues with land disputes with Zhenhua Port Co.

The unfinished section of the road was causing traffic delays between Shekou and downtown Shenzhen, negatively impacting affected commuters and resulting in increased operation costs for logistics companies. Residents were expected to be able to use the road when Shenzhen Bay Park was opened in August but due to land disputes the construction was halted several times. Complaints over these problems led Shekou sub-district officials to solve the land dispute problems which lead to the continuation of the road construction.

Wanghai Road that runs along Shekou Peninsula and is designed to be a trunk road for commuters traveling from Shekou to downtown Shenzhen but has not opened due to the unfinished section. Once the road is opened it will reportedly save commuters an hour in commuting as the road improves commuting from Rose Garden and The Peninsula.
