City Sees an Increase in Outbound Travelers
According to several local travel agencies, there is an increasing number of residents asking and planning outbound travel for July and August the boom seasons for the regional travel industry. One travel service said that package tours for the United States that are scheduled to leave next month are already fully booked and still residents are consulting for other options.
There is also an increase in the number of people choosing self guided tours, while some outbound tourists choose tour packages with tour guides due to language barriers. Along with the United States, Britain and Australia are some of the popular destinations for local travelers. Expected to be on vacation for the next two months are families, students and young professionals that accounts of most of the city’s outbound travelers. Other are also planning to visit London to watch and experience the Olympics in a foreign country.
And to the demand, residents are expecting a price hikes for outbound tours in the next two months, with international airlines increasing fuel surcharges in contrast with the decrease in domestic airlines fuel surcharges.
