Officials Initiates Public Hospital Reforms
The city health officials are planning to form a unified administration management and council center for public hospitals. Officials hope to open the center by September, the center will give public hospitals more control in their daily operations and to simplify approval processes.
Once reforms are implemented, hospital managers will have more power in decision making in regards to the hospital’s daily operations. Vice director for the city health commission also said that the new structure helps improve medical quality and services in smaller hospitals.
The administration council for the center will be in a supervisory organization that will evaluate the hospital’s performance and staff management. The council member will be chosen from qualified government officials and they will be working part time with no pay. Management center will handle the hospital’s finance and employment but will not be involved in the daily operations of the hospital.
