Xuyi International Crayfish Festival Starts its Shenzhen Leg
The China Xuyi International Crayfish Festival starts its Shenzhen leg last Saturday at several local restaurants. The festival will last until early July will feature high quality crayfish and traditional crayfish cuisines from Xuyi in the Jiangsu Province.
Xuyi County officials said that city diners will be treated to seafood feasts at the Intercontinental Shenzhen. From July to October is considered the best time to enjoy crayfish since the meat is at its freshest during this time of the year. One restaurant in Futian will be offering a variety of Xuyi’s popular traditional crayfish dishes ranging from garlic crayfish, salted crayfish, spicy crayfish, and roasted crayfish with salted egg.
Xuyi is a small town made famous for its crayfish and every year the town celebrates its crayfish festival in six cities across the country. Other than crayfish, Xuyi is also famous among tourist for its ancient palace, Temple National Forest Park and Diyi Mountain.
