Officials Plans to Place More Treatment Plants for Kitchen Wastes
As part of series of new food safety regulations, city officials plans to place a least one treatment plant for restaurant kitchen waste in every district in Shenzhen by 2014. Currently there are six plants under construction and several more an in planning and some are already in the development process.
Local government have also approved regulations that will create a system that will collect, transport and treat restaurant food waste and to control swill oil disposal. Furthermore stricter measures will be introduced regarding management and the use of food additives. Food production companies and restaurants will be having professional training sessions regularly regarding proper waste disposal, government are also encouraging residents to inform the administration regarding any activities involving illegal use of food additives.
Luahu and Futian are also planning to establish a food and farm produce examination organizations which are a part of the local government plan to add examination centers in communities around Shenzhen. A third party examination system will also be established in hopes to encourage authorized examination companies to open branches in Shenzhen.
