Fuel Surcharge for Red Cabs Lowered
Starting today Shenzhen will be lowering fuel surcharge on red cabs fares from 3 yuan down to 2 yuan. The decrease in surcharges was decided by the city’s development and reform commission together with the transport commission.
The decision was then approved by the city government on the basis of the taxi fare mechanism that is tied up with gasoline prices. The decision came two days later after prices for the 93 octane gasoline dropped .34 yuan or 7.34 yuan per liter, which fits the price range that allows a 1 yuan decrease in the fuel surcharge.
Fuel surcharges on green cabs which operate mainly in Longgang and Bao’an District and in Guangming, Longhua, Pingshan and Dapeng new areas remains unchanged at 2 yuan since the reduce in gasoline price didn’t fit in the pricing category of 5.85 to 7.13 yuan per liter that will enable the surcharge reduction for the green cabs.
