The city traffic bureau reminds residents that they can report faulty traffic lights by calling 110. Then the bureau will send staff to the traffic lights as soon as confirmed the report it true. The announcement came when widespread public concerns that some of the city’s traffic lights have not been working properly for a long time.
This July alone, faulty traffic lights were cause of several accidents in Longgang District at intersections. The traffic bureau said during an interview that around 90 percent of the city traffic lights responsibility has not been transferred to them by the contractors who installed them, this means that the contractors are still responsible for the maintenance and management of the majority of the traffic lights in the city.
