Traffic Police to Limit the Number of Students to Every Education Car
Traffic police is considering capping the number of driving students assigned to every driver’s education car to give the students more time to practice on the roads and lessen the chances of accidents caused by the new drivers.
Every driving vehicle is used by a maximum of seventy driving students under the old measure, which also states that new drivers who cause any traffic accidents within two years, or is slightly responsible for two minor accidents also in the two year period needs to undergo re-examination. Currently each vehicle in the city is being used by more than 100 students thus limiting the amount of time for each student to spend behind the wheel.
A mechanism will also be adopted to help track violations made by the new drivers. There are about 24 training schools and 2,300 training cars in Shenzhen but the number of trainees waiting to take the driving exams is about 200,000. The high number is attributed to the shortage of training and examination venues.
