Online Survey Votes Shenzhen as Most Creative City in China
According to the Chinese City Ranking campaign done by CRI Online Shenzhen was voted as the most creative city in China. The city was ranked number 1 among 20 contending cities with 109,340 votes through internet and 6,108 votes to SMS. Shenzhen was followed by Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Wuxi, Pu’er, Yinchuan and Jiujiang on the top ten list.
Shenzhen is considered a pioneer city in economics and cultural reforms and also a magnet for entrepreneurs, designers and tourists. Started in 2010 the Chinese City Ranking was initiated by CRI and turned into an international event which is supported by China’s State Council Information Office, the National Tourism Administration and the Ministry of Culture.
CRI ask its followers and internet users from around the world to place their votes for the most ideal Chinese city. CRI’s website of the city rankings is presented using 26 languages. This was the first time that the users can vote for their city using SMS from their mobile phones.
