Committee Established to Help Handle Developments of Qianhai Zone
An advisory committee for the Qianhai zone is being established by Shenzhen officials that will help guide the implementation of a State Council approved development plan. The 17 member committee will be chaired by Hua Jianmin the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
The committee will also include scholars, experts and government officials from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. The committee will hold discussions and provide opinions, suggestions and proposals that will help develop Qianhai into a modern international service hub. During the committee’s first conference city Party secretary Wang Rong handed out appointment letters to the advisory committee. The committee will hold one plenary meeting annually conferences for other topics or a particular one will be done on an irregular basis.
The Central Government recently released plans for the development of Qianhai that offers low corporate taxes, strong legal regime and a tax free employment. The new zone will be known as the Qianhai Shenzhen Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone that focuses on the financial, IT and Logistics services.
Scheduled to be completed in 2020, it will be a modern hub for the service industry cooperation and a pilot district for future cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong.
