Hot and Hazy Weather to Continue as Storm Hits Eastern Coast of China
The hot weather yesterday can be attributed to incoming storm Haikui that will be hitting the eastern coast of China today. Although Haikui is just 1,000 kilometers away from the city the outer streams of the storm affected the temperatures in most areas around Shenzhen.
Temperatures in Shenzhen were recorded to exceed 35 degrees Celsius and the possibility of haze that reduced visibility to not more than 3 kilometers. In Luohu district a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius was recorded. The Shenzhen meteorological observatory said that the heat wave will still be felt in the city today and some relief will come in terms of light shower around noontime.
Haze was seen around the city in the past couple of days due to the heat and weather patterns brought by three typhoons namely Saola, Damrey and incoming Haikui. Environmental authorities were advising elderly people and parents with children to take precautions especially those with respiratory ailments. Avoid being outdoors for a long period of time and do light exercises is possible.
