Painting Exhibition to Feature Paintings from Top Russian ArtistsArtist from the Repin Arts Academy one of Russia’s top art academy will be displaying more than 130 paintings placed on display at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Futian. The exhibition will feature oil paintings, watercolors, prints and sketches and will run until August 19 during the International Cultural Industry Fair Co.

All of the paintings are done by famous Russian contemporary artists who also teach at the academy. The exhibition is a good chance to learn about the art culture and history of Russia. This is also an important move in helping Russian artists to bring their work and show them to the Chinese art collection market.

Founded in 1757, and regarded as one of the top four art institute in the world, the full name of the college is St. Petersburg State Academic Institute of Paintings, Sculpture and Architecture. Several known and famous Russian painters such as Andrei Milnikov and Ilya Repin went to this school.

Russian artwork is fast becoming popular during cultural fairs and a growing number of artists from Russia are coming to China in hopes to introduce their artworks and painting styles. Also a growing number of Chinese art lovers are also learning to love Russian paintings in the recent years. Unlike works of European artists, prices of Russian painting are low, thus making them worth collecting.
