The Shenzhen Lions Club have organized a donation run and so far collected 40,000 yuan, while participating individuals, enterprises and organizations will also start bringing cash donations and other items to the five welfare centers starting September 2. Organizations that can also receive donations are the Social Welfare Center of Yantian District, the Shenzhen Min’ai Disabled Children’s Welfare Center, Jingxiyang Home for the Elderly in Futian, the Yile Integrated Service Development Center and the Shenzhen Huayang Special Children Rehabilitation Center.
The donation program is intended to offer people the chance to get in touch with disabled children and the elderly that have been abandoned by their family to be cared and loved. Initiated by the Shenzhen Lions Club the program is called Bai Bang Yi when translated means 100 enterprises to help one person who is disabled or is disadvantaged.
Participants can help by giving purchasing priority to their services and products when a member needs it since the programs are also aimed to encourage people to participate in charitable works without taking financial pressure.
