Heavy Rains to Hit the CIty as Another Storm ApproachesShenzhen will be hit with another round of heavy rainfall tonight or tomorrow due to the influence of Kai-tak. Kai-tak the 13th tropical storm to hit the city is moving northwesterly at 20 kilometers per hour had just left the northern part of the Philippines and is 850 kilometers away from Shenzhen.

Kai-tak is expected to enter South China Sea last night and hit land on the southern regions of Taiwan before entering coastal areas of Guangdong and Fujian. Shenzhen will have occasional rain showers and temperature will drop slightly to around 32 degrees Celsius bringing relief since temperature was at its highest yesterday of 38 degrees Celsius because of the storm’s outer stream.

A white alert was issued by the Shenzhen Meteorological observatory warning residents to take precautions against the weather. The observatory also asked port authorities to call ships back to harbor, evacuate workers from offshore oil platforms and reinforce outdoor facilities.
