Canada to Start Receiving Applications for its Program by Next Year
Canadian Consul in Guangzhou Weldon Epp said, that Canada is planning to start receiving new applications for its popular Federal Skilled Worker Program in March next year. Along with his announcement he said that they have still to decide whether to resume its Immigrant Investor Program.
The Canadian Government suspended receiving new applications for its two popular programs earlier, so that the improvements to the two programs will be put in place in time. Canadian Consul Epp said that both Guangdong and Canada have strong historic ties because of the early immigrants which came from the province. Guangzhou was one of the three cities that Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper visited in his trip to China last February.
Epp was in Shenzhen to attend the Canadian food festival which was hosted by JW Marriott Hotel Shenzhen. Epp said that he can see great potential for cooperation with Shenzhen, as Canadian companies give importance to Shenzhen’s high tech industry. Also Shenzhen and Montreal are UNESCO Cities of Design even if Shenzhen has only 32 years of urban history compared to Montreal who has 400 years of history both are innovative.
