Chinese Hurdler Liu Xiang Recounts Moments Before Career Ending Injury
Liu Xiang China’s star hurdler said he was healthy moments before a painful injury ended his Olympic career. The former 110m gold medalist, said in his first ever major interview after his exit in London told reporters that he was healthy while he was preparing on the starting line.
Liu had a post-operative cleaning in Shanghai Huashan Hospital and showed off the 20 cm wound on camera. Liu said that he might not be able to join in the next Olympics. Liu said that while standing on the line before the hurdles stated he was healthy but actually had problems on his foot but he shrugged it off and he felt like running fast. But once he went over the first hurdle he knew he was in trouble and he felt like he was struck with whip.
Before coming home to China Liu had surgery in London and completed other treatments in China.
