More Government Subsidized Kindergartens to be Opened Next Year
To help parents save money more government subsidized kindergarten will be opened and fees will be lowered further next year. The new kindergartens will under strict financial supervision that will ensure the government funding will benefit operations and education services.
The government subsidized kindergartens have lower charges than private kindergartens but the quality of the education and facilities will not be affected by the lower tuition. Qualified private kindergartens can apply for government subsidies from the city’s education bureau. So far the education bureau have selected 50 private kindergartens to serve as trial schools that will test financial operation, staff, quality and management of government subsidized kindergarten.
These trial kindergartens are all district level and above with average less than 700 yuan a month and these 50 kindergartens have vowed not to increase their fees for the next three years, expensive kindergartens charges less than 1,000 yuan a month. And by 2013, around 50 percent of the city’s kindergartens will be government subsidized with charges not more than 1,000 yuan a month in Futian, Luohu, Yantian and Nanshan districts and 800 yuan in other areas in the city.
