Overseas Students Return to do Voluntary Teachings in Village Schools
120 students across China returned from after studying overseas are now off to rural areas to teach voluntarily through a program created by Shenzhen’s Project Care. The program also includes 80 more teachers also from China but didn’t study abroad.
So these 200 volunteer teachers will be placed in village schools in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou and Hunan province to teach children for three to six months. One volunteer said that it was his third time to join the project during his first two times he taught in Liangshan then Ganzi and despite difficulties he enjoyed teaching and considered is a great experience.
He advises first time volunteer teachers to be prepared to deal with impoverish and rustic living conditions and to be passionate in helping local students in their thirst for knowledge.
Project Care’s volunteer teaching program is now on its six year with a total of 748 volunteers teaching in more than 250 village schools in 14 provinces and regions.
