Monitoring System Help Decrease the Number of Violations on Beihuan Boulevard
Traffic violations on Beihuan Boulevard dropped by 90 percent since the month police installed and implemented advance technologies that closely monitor drivers. As of today the daily average of violations on Beihuan Boulevard is around 300 which is about one-tenth of the average violations recorded before the monitor technology was installed.
Traffic violations involving trucks have also dropped to about 91 percent or a daily average of 288 violations. Accidents that are caused by illegal lane changes also decreased by 60 percent compared to August of last year. Traffic congestion have also decreased on local roads, before the advanced technology was installed there were about 15 major traffic jams in a month and the number dropped to nine after the installation of the monitoring system. The length of time a driver spent stuck in traffic in a month has decreased by 10 to 15 minutes.
And because of lighter traffic congestion the average speed on Shenzhen roads increased to 44.2 kilometers an hour during morning rush hours and around 43.2 kilometers during evening rush hours. Police will also be installing new equipment that will monitor vehicles that are moving slower than 60 kilometers an hour during times of no congestion to help improve traffic efficiency since Beihuan Boulevard has a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour.
