City Volunteers to Get Multi-Functional ID CardsCity volunteers will be getting a new type of digital certification that is unique, not only it will serve as their volunteer’s ID but it will serve as a bank card, medical card and transportation card as well.

The digital volunteer ID card will have functions that can handles finances, transit accounts and medical insurance. This will make volunteers eligible for preferential policies when doing payments. When volunteers use the cards for credit purchases they can also enjoy interest free periods of 20 up to 50 days further more they can use the cards at any local convenience stores and parking facilities. The city have already signed contracts with more than 100,000 stores across the city that will allow the use of the cards and at the same time offer discounts to buyers using the cards when paying.

The new cards are part of the city’s plan to organize and utilize volunteers better, also when the cardholders participate in local volunteering efforts they will be offered accident insurances of around 100,000 yuan for a year. The cards will also serve as the volunteer’s medical cards once the city hospitals launch its digital services since the cards will be storing the cardholder’s service history and personal information.

The cards can also be using in paying for public transportation such as buses and Metro trains.
