New Service to Provide Health and Fertility Programs to Couples
City officials are planning a new service that will help parents who have lost their only child or has a child with disabilities. The new service will provide health and fertility programs along with financial support to help families getting through hard times.
City officials will also create a database of second fertility families thus creating a channel that which eligible families can have another baby for free without paying fines brought by violations of the country’s one child policy along with meeting financial difficulties in relation to childbirth and raising another child. The director of the women’s’ society department Zhang Yingji said that medical research and prenatal health programs will be initiated to help reduce the number of newborns with disabilities.
The city have also launched free health clinics to residents which includes free medical examinations, lectures on special diseases and treatments. Couples with Shenzhen hukou can receive free fertility examinations, consultations and risk evaluations at special medical clinics before getting married or before planning to have children.
