Recommended Driving Destinations for the Holidays
As more drivers planning road trips since this year’s National Day holidays and Mid Autumn Festival is much longer with eight days in total. Here are two driving routes that can have your vacation worthwhile and learn historical facts and absorb cultural experiences as well.
The Shenzhen/Lijang/Lhasa route – when driving from Shenzhen to Lhasa passing through Yunnan province one can make a stop at Lijiang city a world famous ancient town and a UNESCO Heritage site. The town can be found right at the center of the city it boasts of more than 800 years of history and once was a confluence for trade along the ancient tea route. There are well preserved architecture plus good bars and great restaurants can be found where in you can relax after a long trip. Hutiao Canyon, Baishui Terrace, Naxi Handmade Embroidery Institute and Baisha Fresco are among the popular attractions. Other must see place that you can pass along the way are Mangkang, Bangda, Zuogong, Ranwu and Nyingchi. Shenzhen/Zhanjiang/Hainan – if you’re looking for a trip that involves sun, sand and sea then a trip to Hainan province by Zhanjiang city in Guangdong is for you. Zhanjiang is a traditional Cantonese city with beaches, cane and eucalyptus woods and banana trees perfect for spending a day to enjoy fresh seafood and quiet surroundings. Sanya in Hainan is also a popular tourist destination and going there you can stop at Bo’ao Water City, Nantian Hotspring and Yudai Beach. You can also go to Yalong Bay where you can do water sports, fishing or explore Wuzhizhou Island. Must try foods are duck, lamb, Wenchang chicken, crab and fresh vegetables.
