Shenzhen Expat Chinese Talent Competition to be Held in NovemberThe 3rd Shenzhen Expat Chinese Talent Competition is now accepting entries. Foreigners who can speak Chinese and has interest in the local Chinese culture can submit their applications before October 26.

The competition will be held in November will include a Chinese Language speech section and a Chinese talent section. For the Chinese language section contestants will be given topics and will answer the questions in Chinese in front of a judging panel. For the Chinese talent section the contestants can choose to sing Chinese songs, poems or do stand up comedy, they can also perform Chinese kung fu or Chinese dramas. Expats older than 6 years of age and lives in Shenzhen are eligible to join the competition.

On 2010 and 2011 more than 350 expats from 30 countries have entered the contest and this year the organizers hopes that more expats will become more involved in the culture and life in Shenzhen by joining the activity. these past years showed that a number of expatriates have arrived in Shenzhen with more than 20,000 have been living permanently in Shenzhen for more than a year, while the number of foreigners visiting Shenzhen and staying overnight have reached 1.68 million in 2010.
