Local Tourists Back from Individual Trips from Taiwan
After taking advantage of the new travel policies to Taiwan, 50 of the first individual tourists came back from their trips satisfied. The tourists left Shenzhen for trips to the island on September 21 which was organized by the Shenzhen Port China Travel Services.
These tourists stayed between 5 to 14 days and their agenda consisted of sightseeing and trying out local foods. Others when to several of the signature resorts in Taiwan like the Alishan Mountain and Sun Moon Lake. Most of the self guided tourists came to visits either alone and their first time or with families taking their first trip together.
Taichung the third largest city in Taiwan signed a cooperation agreement with Shenzhen to further promote the new individual tourism. The agreement will allow the two cities to further strengthen its tourism cooperation and provide services and diversified products to Taiwan visitors. Taichung will then be providing tourist from Shenzhen with transportation cards that will allow free bus rides for less than 8 kilometers.
A local travel agency in Shenzhen said that residents are starting to ask on trips to Taiwan as they plan to go either with friends or families in small groups so they can enjoy transportation and hotel service that are offers by the agencies. During the eight day holidays Taiwan have received about 900 individual tourists from the mainland each day.
