Crosswalk Violations Further Explained by Traffic PoliceDrivers caught running a red light but stops before all of his vehicles wheels have gone past a crosswalk will not be charged with any traffic violations but will be fined instead based on red lights rules that are being enforced by the traffic police.

During a meet held last week by the Ministry of Public Security that cover the rules, use and application of drivers licenses have planned to use monitoring cameras to take photos of the front and rear tires of the vehicle as evidences of the violations, furthermore these photos can be used to confirm every violation with full images of the vehicles taken at the intersections. Drivers with front wheels past the crosswalks will not be charged with any violations if their rear wheels are on the crosswalks will lead to a illegal parking fine of 200 yuan along with a one point deduction from the drivers license.

Even with these penalties, police are still reminding drivers not to back up if their front wheels are already past the crosswalk to reduce chances of backing up into a pedestrian or any other cars that are behind them. And by next year vehicles caught running a red lights have a penalty of six points deduction to the drivers license from the previous three point deduction.
