Residents to Report Traffic Violations Online
Residents can now report common traffic violations to local police by sending in captured videos and pictures to the traffic department official microblogs sina.com and qq.com. Residents can then upload the evidence along with information such as license plate of the offending vehicle, violation details and the time and location of the incident.
Informers should also provide personal information such as ID and phone numbers by sending a private message through the microblog in case the police needs to collect more information, evidences or details. Reported violations must have occurred in 24 hours after the report has made and police will reply to the informers once the case is closed. No news if there will be rewards given for every successful violation solved.
Residents can report any of the eight eligible traffic violations ranging from illegally changing lanes, jumping queues, driving on the wrong side of the road, illegal U turns, crossing solid white and yellow lane lines and driving in incorrect lanes.
