City to Enforce Ban of Vehicles on Hiking Trails
The city is stepping up in its enforcement on the ban of motor vehicles on hiking and cycling trails in Meilin in Futian. The city urban management bureau have already sent staff to the trails and pathways in efforts to keep motor vehicles away in the area.
Billboards were installed in the hiking and cycling trails to constantly remind users on the imposed motor vehicle ban on the tracks. The only vehicles allowed on these tracks are the ones being used for landscaping. Along with the ban on motor vehicles on trails the heavy enforcement has also decreased the amount of liter that is left on the public tracks.
City regulations on the usage of the public tracks took effect last August in which the traffic management department can impose a 200 yuan fine for people caught violating the ban on using motor vehicles or electric bicycles on the hiking an bike trails.
