Expats in Shenzhen Celebrates Halloween in Jingshan

Expats in Shenzhen Celebrates Halloween in JingshanHundreds of residents along with expats living in Shenzhen gathered in a Shekou Villa last night to celebrate the popular Western holiday better known as Halloween. People came in various costumes from batman, witches, vampires, ghosts and zombies covered in fake blood.

The colorful festive party is an annual event in Jingshan Villa, organized by China Merchants Property Development Co. and Shekou Women’s International Club. The villa is also home to more than 200 families from around the world.  The party started with a zumba dance performed by 24 international women. The party also had a pumpkin carving contest, costume contest and a home decoration contest.

Residents living in the villa started to decorate their homes at least three days before Halloween. One American couple and their children dressed up as vampires said that the party was a great way to know the other families living in the villa. Several Chinese families also joined the party by dressing up in black one Chinese resident said that is was a unique experience for him but a great way to make new friends.
