City to Impose Stricter Truck Ban Measures
In the city’s effort to lessen truck related accidents a speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour for was set for all dump trucks found in urban roads. Along with the speed limit a GPS system will be installed in all the city’s dump trucks. Speed limits will also be set at expressways such as Binhai, Beihuan, Binhe, Nigang, Yanhe, Nanping and Fulong.
Under the new dump truck management plan speed limits for dump trucks is set to 70 kilometers per hour on expressways, while speed limit on truck roads is set to 60 kilometers. If a dump truck is causes and accident resulting to death or injuries, or commits three traffic violations, traffic police has the authority to revoke the truck’s certification and include it the blacklist under the new plan which is considered the toughest in the history of Shenzhen in which violations are applied to trucks and its owners rather than the drivers.
These dump truck companies will be also added to the blacklist that bans vehicles from operating for two years if 30 percent of the company’s dump trucks commit enough violations. And companies and their trucks that are placed on the list twice will be permanently disqualified from operating their vehicles in Shenzhen.
Also stating November 15, dump trucks will be prohibited from several roads during certain times and drivers of these trucks that are registered outside of Shenzhen must first obtain work qualifications and permits from local transport authorities.
