People to Act as Living Books in New Library Service
A new library service started its operations in Luohu District Library yesterday that features people acting as living books. In a library section, instead of shelves filled with books, it was filled with people that answer questions and share their book experiences with readers.
According to the library’s curator they are not satisfied in just providing or offering static books to readers, in this new service they hope to provide life stories and experiences in the library. The first day of the new service was themed Careers which had six people from different line of work were chosen to be living books, the six people were cartoonist Liu Wei, architect Zeng Yiwu, psychology instructor Wu Qiong, sinologist Wang Fei, fashion buyer Qu Hua, and investment manager Zhao Xiaojing. Interested readers can have a 40 minute conversation with any of the living books.
Such service creates a kind of reading that is mutual in communication that is filled with ideas that can help people in enriching their lives by learning from others experiences. Every individual is different and each has their own rich experience and their own unique understanding in life, which the library welcomes if they are interested in becoming part of the program.
