Draft Released to Create Measures on Public Information
Officials are strengthening procedures for public notification done during emergencies and have created a draft requiring the release of a brief information to the public within two hours of the incident. Also basic information on the incident and necessary measures must be announced within 24 hours.
The draft is the initial step that the city is taking as a solution for the city’s lack of regulations of public notifications procedures done during emergencies. Several leaders of related administrative departments and emergency response teams will be penalized if they fail to report information before the set deadline or if they conceal any information to the public.
Emergencies are covered by regulations which include natural disasters, incidents on food safety, serious traffic accidents, public health and safety. The emergency management team said that they will be releasing detailed definitions and classifications of public emergencies and the level of degrees once the drafted regulations is placed into effect.
