Hospitals Saw Increase in Patients as Temperature Fluctuates
As Shenzhen moves through Autumn, hospitals saw an increase of clinical visits in the past weeks due to the fluctuating temperatures due to weather changes. Doctors are constantly reminding residents to dress warmly during the cold weather, increase their fluid intake and eat more vegetables and fruits rich in vitamin C.
In the past week the hospitals also saw an increase of the number of people suffering from strokes and pneumonia that needed emergency treatment. Doctors suggested that elderly and senior citizens who suffers from cerebrovascular, cardiovascular or respiratory diseases to be careful and always to keep warm as temperatures changes drastically between nighttime to daytime.
Last weekend saw temperatures dipped below 20 degrees Celsius but have rebounded since Monday with an average temperature of 24.5 degrees and topping out at 27 degrees Celsius. This week the weather will continue to be warm up to Thursday before dropping down again in the weekend with chances of light rain.
This weather swing is said to continue until next week and Shenzhen will enter winter by the end of December.
