Center Encourages Residents to Get Vaccinated Earlier
The center for disease control and preventions are encouraging residents to get vaccinated ahead of an expected flu outbreak. Community clinics around the city are providing domestic and imported influenza vaccines costing 40 yuan and 80 yuan respectively.
The city usually expects a flu outbreak every year between February and March, and this is the best time to get vaccinated since the anti body against the flu virus inoculates in the body for a month. The vaccine is effective for one year and for those who were vaccinated the same time last year should get vaccinated again. The center also suggested that seniors, young children and those suffering from chronic diseases should get vaccinated to prevent flu and other complications.
To help prevent flu outbreaks residents are advised to keep themselves warm and their home well ventilates. Residents are also discouraged to go to crowded areas to prevent contamination and the spread of the virus.
