New Set of Traffic Regulations to Increase Cost of Learning to Drive
Due to a new set of traffic regulations the cost of learning to drive will increase by 1,000 yuan by next year. The new regulations will also make the driving test more difficult. The city drivers training association have already calculated the cost of learning to drive and said that with the new ruling the cost of teaching will be around 5,000 yuan.
The new rules also increase the difficulty of driving tests and at the same time extend the hours a student must spend on training. The number of learners that fails their driving tests will be also increased. Several driving schools around the city have already increased their cost of training to 5,000 yuan starting last week.
Students taking the tests must show their driving skills including parallel parking, angle parking and perpendicular turn. A report made by the Shenzhen Car Show Driver Training Center revealed that the passing rate have dropped from 95% to 75 percent recently. The new rules is said to be the strictest in China, which requires the driver to retake the driving theory test is the driver is caught running the red lights twice of has more than 12 points deducted from their license.
