New Road Opens After Years of Delay Due to Land DisputeAfter years of delay the 6 kilometer Wanghai road along Shekou Peninsula is now open. The road construction was delayed due to several land disputes is a trunk road for commuters coming from Shekou going to downtown Shenzhen.

The road will also provide connections to Binhai Boulevard, Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint, Shahe Road West, Houhai Boulevard and Keyuan Road. The newly opened road will facilitate commutes for more than 400,000 Shekou residents that are frequently traveling to downtown Shenzhen. The road can reduce travel time by about 40 minutes and will be especially beneficial for the expat heavy residents of Nanshan Rose Garden and Peninsula City housing communities.

Also according to the Shenzhen transportation commission two more unfinished roads were completed and opened that leads to Dongguan. This include the 316 kilometer western extension of Qinglin Road linking Longping Road South in Dongguan to Longgang Sports Center and the 742 meter road that links Ruyi Road in Longgang to Longfeng Boulevard in Dongguan which will cut travel time to 10 minutes compared to the previous of 25 to 30 minutes.

The project was initiated in 2002 but was delayed due to land disputes with Zhenhua Port Co.
