Shenzhen Cancels Implementation of 12 Administration Fees
Landlords in Shenzhen will no longer have to pay management fees when renting out homes around the city. as of yesterday the fee that is one of the 12 administrative fees implemented by the city have been canceled or waived.
Previously landlords had to pay management fees that was 2 or 3 percent of the monthly rent based on the implemented regulations of 1993. Then in 1997 Guangdong canceled its rental management fees and by 2001 China canceled the fees nationwide thus making Shenzhen the remaining city that keeps on implementing the fees. And by 2005 lawmakers and advisers were calling in the cancellation of the fees, but several offices said that the fee was still needed since it cover the cost of managing the huge number of migrants, prevents illegal construction and a substitute for security fees.
And according to the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission more than thirty administrative fees in China have already been canceled as of yesterday. And around 12 administration fees in Shenzhen were canceled which includes home rental management fees.
