State Administration Approves Ten Shenzhen Brands and Other TrademarksThe State Administration for Industry and Commerce have approved ten Shenzhen brands as well as well known trademarks in China. Three of these brands come from the service related industries namely interior decoration, estate sales and marketing and property management. The three others are from the electronic products category which includes Huaqiang, Kingkey and BYD.

As of the moment there are 103 Shenzhen brands that are approved along with China’s well known trademarks thus making Shenzhen the first vice provincial level city to have more than a hundred well known trademarks in China. Applications and registrations for trademarks have been slowly increasing in Shenzhen in the past two years. And the city has already approved 36,574 trademarks in 2011 and has already received 32,699 applications in the first half of the 2012. Among the applications around 18,450 were approved.

There are 186,424 valid registered trademarks last year which ranks the city fourth in the country. Among the valid registered trademark 20 percent are for electronic products and the remaining in areas such as clothing, sales, science and lighting.
