Macao and Shenzhen to Further Strengthen Ties Through Cultural and Creative Industries
According to new plans Shenzhen and Macao will be deepening their ties in the cultural and creative industries. Macao’s secretary for economy and finance Francis Tam Pak Yuen said that the two cities will be pushing forward cooperation in the animation field since there is a huge potential.
The two cities have been actively taking part in each other forums and exhibitions for cultural and creative industries the past several years and more exchanges are being expected. Shenzhen’s mayor Xu Qin is excited on the future cooperation between the two cities, he also said that the added value of the cultural and creative industries in Shenzhen have reached 110 billion yuan last year which contributed to 9 percent to the city’s GDP.
Aside from the cultural and creative cooperation, both cities agreed for further cooperation in other fields such as traditional Chinese medicine, education, tourism, medical supervision, entry-exit inspection and quarantine. Both cities have strive to deepen their cooperation in the economy, exhibition and trade conventions and will also seek exchanges with Portuguese speaking countries.
