Flower Prices to Rise a Few Weeks Before Spring Festival
Flower prices have started to increase as the Spring Festival holiday is just less than a month away. Majority of the local flower stores are replenishing their stocks in preparation for the upcoming holiday.
Merchants say that order volumes and prices of several known flowers have increased. Prices are expected to rise especially two weeks before the festival. Gardener working for Shenzhen Fine Floriculture in the huge Shenzhen Flower World a wholesale market in Futian district saw a rise of 1.5 yuan in a few months prior is now 5 yuan. The gardener also added that the low temperature negative effects on the flower production are also contributing to the price increase along with the upcoming holiday.
