More Families Dining Out to Celebrate the Chinese New Year
Local restaurants are filling up with reservations fast in preparation of the Chinese New Year in February 9 as families are planning reunion dinners since the New Year is only three weeks away. Restaurants are saying that 80 percent of their tables are already reserved.
Victory restaurant has 90 percent of their tables are reserved and is equal to the amount of reservations they had in the previous years. One restaurant manager in one of the company’s restaurant said that two of their restaurants one in Futian and in Nanshan are the most popular. Family dinners at this restaurant can cost 1,800 yuan to 8,000 yuan or more especially in the eve of the New Year. Deposits are required in making reservations. Families planning to dine out on New Year’s Eve must make reservations are early as possible
Most of the families are working during the eve of New Year and don’t have time to prepare a banquet, so they find it more convenient to have reunion dinner at restaurants and they usually make reservations at least one or two months ahead. Restaurants offer two seating to accommodate most of the diners, one is at 4 pm then the next is at 7 pm.
