Approaching Holiday Sees Increase in Car Rental Fees
The car rental market is now seeing its annual peak as the Spring Festival is fast approaching. Car rental agencies have reported 80 percent of car rentals as their prices have doubled it normal rates and even more.
One car rental service that covers major cities and tourists destinations in China are require renters to book cars seven days in advance during the holidays. More holiday celebrators have decided drive home for the holidays as train tickets are almost sold out also the national toll free policy on holidays have also boosted car rental sales. Some chose to drive home since renting cars are more convenient and it allows drivers to visit different cities while traveling to their hometown.
Although some find it expensive to drive home as car rental fees have doubled and traveling by air is too costly and train tickets are almost sold out. Some decided to carpool with friends with people from their hometown since it will cost less. Car rentals normally cost 100 to 200 yuan a day, but from February 8 and 15 the cost doubles to 400 yuan.
