Local Expatriates Shares Plans on Celebrating the Spring Festival
Most of the Chinese residents are heading home to their hometowns during the Spring Festivals for family reunions. During this time local expats are cooking up plans on how to celebrate during this long holiday.
Some expats are buying decorations and flowers to place in their homes in Shekou and they are also preparing banquet for families and friends while giving out hongbao also known as the lucky red envelope. Some are planning to set off fireworks which are also an important tradition during the Spring festival. Some are planning to visit the annual flower markets around the city as well as visiting theme parks while enjoying popular Chinese cuisines. Other expats are planning to go on road trips outside the city.
One local expat said he visited great places in the Guangdong province during Spring Festivals and he finds it very interesting to see Chinese people traveling to this places during the holidays as well.
