Travelers Reminded on the National Toll Free Policy Rules
Last year vehicles with seven seats will be exempted from tolls on expressways nationwide and applies to the time when the vehicle has exited the expressway. Also during the Spring Festival holiday all vehicles that weights 15 tons or heavier or vehicles that are carrying hazardous wastes will not be allowed on the expressways during this time. Tollgates will be setting up barriers that will divide toll free vehicles from non toll free vehicles. Vehicles are also barred from waiting and parking near tollgates.
Special lanes will be designated for toll free vehicles along with signs at tollgates such as Dameisha, Bulong, He’ao and Meilin to help guide drivers. A 30 percent surge in vehicles will be seen on the Guangzhou Shenzhen Expressway during holiday, slightly higher compared with the same period last year.
Drivers are constantly reminded to keep in mind the deadline for the toll free policy and to be off the expressway before the deadline. Drivers are also reminded of the travel peak which are February 7-8 and February 14-15 and much as possible to avoid traveling in these days.
