More than 4 Million Travelers to Cross Borders during Spring Festival Holidays
Checkpoints are expecting to have more than 4 million cross border travelers during the Spring Festival Holiday. Based on a study by the Shenzhen General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspections that holiday travel starts on Saturday and will last until February 16 with an estimated daily average of 600,000 border crosser showing a 14.8 percent increase from last year.
A majority of locals are anticipating the best time in crossing the border and avoid long lines at major checkpoints such as Luohu, Futian, and Huanggang which are already reporting a heavy flow of outbound holiday travelers. To cope up with the heavy flow checkpoints will be releasing real time situations on LED screens at checkpoints and through other public media.
Checkpoints are also asking qualified travelers to use the e-channels found at checkpoints to avoid long lines. Also people traveling in groups are separated from individuals travelers at Huanggang, Luohu, Futian and Shenzhen Bay checkpoints to further increase efficiency in clearing checkpoints.
