City Raked in More than 6 Billion Yuan in Revenues
Tourism revenue in Shenzhen hit 6.1 billion yuan during the Spring Festival holiday all thanks to the 5.16 million visitors that came to the city. The revenue showed a 20.3 percent increase compared to last year’s Spring Festival.
According to the report domestic tourists gave around 78 percent revenue to the city tourism during the week long holiday, the report also showed that around half of the domestic tourists came from outside Guangdong Province and 1.32 million tourists from overseas. The 18 major resorts had 1.81 million visitors that generated 147 million yuan in spending. Tourist who visited Shenzhen enjoyed the warm winter weather and local residents took the time to get out of the city for road trips with friends or with family.
The Shenzhen Hong Kong border also showed heavy traffic during the past week, with local checkpoints handling more than 4 million border crossings or 600,000 crossers a day.
